Are thermal curtain linings the same as blackout linings?

I am on an economy drive for winter re heating bills. can someone tell me are thermal curtain linings the same as blackout linings. I want to get some curtain linings to try and keep the heat in.

No, but you can get curtain linings that do both.

You could have the curtains you have lined or you could line them with cheap charity shop curtains.

I think interlining can also be used. You have my sympathy we used to live in a cold modern house with draughty windows....I'd love to be a fly on the wall when the new owners have a winter there and realise the reason I wasnt that upset the landlord was selling.
