I had to share this link with you. here

I have had it pined on my pinterest board for a while and never had the nerve to do it.

Two weeks ago the suction on my Dyson got so bad i reckoned I had nothing to loose. I let it dry for 4 days and the suction is unbelievably better. I don't think I need a new vacuum nowGrin

Caution try at your own risk.

Wow! Thanks for that.
I resort to adding a tumble drier sheet to the canister to release a nice smell when hoovering, but it's only masking the problem.

i do that regularly. in fact i do it more thoroughly - i have a screwdriver that fits the screws on a dyson (flower shaped i think) and i take all the screws out under the filter so the whole thing comes apart.

my dyson is 7/8 years old and works perfectly. love it. had a horrid henry before - it was useless.

I am sooo impressed! Two days without hoovering is a bit of a challenge though.

Ooo. I might get DH to do that. He will turn his hand to general cleaning but he excels at the one off 'this is really dirty and needs scrubbing 'til it shines' cleaning.
