Tidy the house - anyone else fancy a post-bank-holiday blitz? I need to

Tidy kitchen
Wash kitchen cupboard doors
Clean inside microwave where DH exploded porridge
Tidy living room
Sort all the bits shoved down the side of the couch Blush
Sort DS's toys and charity shop old ones
Tidy bedroom and put away mountain of clothes
Deep clean both bathrooms
As much washing as I can fit on the maiden
Erm... Put away washing that has been dry on the maiden for 3 days

Think maybe I need to get off mumsnet and make a start... Please tell me I'm not the only one living in a hell-hole after having DH and wine here for 3 days???

Put dishwasher on
Clean and dress my son
Clean the bathroom
Many loads of laundry - done one, folded one from yesterday, sorted the next already.
Ring the dr about 2 mundane but necessary things - will do that later as it will be hell to get through on a post BH morning
Make lunch
Make banana loaf
Start clearing out my wardrobe to move it
Ring Tescos to sort out a problem with the clubcard
Ring Which to sort out why I can't reset my password still
Get my arse off this chair and start doing some of it. Dad's coming at 10.30 so I only have an hour or so to get lots done.

How much are you hoping to have done before your Dad arrives? So far I've got the kitchen finished, just starting on the living room.

How did you both get on pascha and ruby ?

I managed:

Tidy kitchen done
Wash kitchen cupboard doors done
Clean inside microwave where DH exploded porridge dh can do
Tidy living room done
Sort all the bits shoved down the side of the couch done
Sort DS's toys and charity shop old ones nope
Tidy bedroom and put away mountain of clothes started
Deep clean both bathrooms nope
As much washing as I can fit on the maiden done, 1 load left to do tomorrow
Erm... Put away washing that has been dry on the maiden for 3 days done

Pretty successful I feel, usually give up after one job Grin

Rockchick, I haven't heard anyone use the word 'maiden' for years. Is it a northern thing? Also 'couch'. Words I use all the time!

About half I think. Must do better tomorrow.

Rockchick1984 · 28/08/2012 21:33

Hilda I'm northern, so possibly - what else can you call it? I know a few people who say Sofa rather than couch but I'm not that posh Grin

I had a productive day

Cleaned bathroom
Cleaned the toilet (separate room next to the bathroom)
Sorted clothes for the charity shop
Gave the kids their clean laundry and bribed asked them to put it away.
Hoovered through the upstairs
Filled 3 bin bags of rubbish
Did 3 loads laundry
Hoovered downstairs
Mopped kitchen floor
Unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher.

Brief respite in cleaning regime: Went out for lunch and met a friend to shop for DIY stuff

Returned library books
Collected prescription
Took DD to swimming lessons
Took binbags to the skip

Sounds like my house should be really clean, unfortunately it was just undoing all the build up from doing bog-all in the house for the last few days.
