stinky ikea rugs,desperate!!

So I have 2 ikea rugs,the thick pile ones iukwim.both have been peed on by dcs few days ago,for some reason I didn't notice straight away till they started to smell!!I used a carpet cleaning machine,scrubbed them,both sides ,with bio laudry soap,vinegard,carpet cleaning spray..nothing works,the smell is better but still there,had to put them in the balcony so not to stink the flat.am desperate.I tho maybe I would take them to a friends garden,scrub them(again) and wash them with lot of water?any suggestion?

Can you soak them in the bath with some washing powder and then hang them out? Otherwise you could put loads of bicarb on them when they're dry and Hoover it off. It's supposed to neutralise smells.

I think they re too big for the bath,about 2 x 1.5 meters

I second the bi carb, lots of it for as long as possible.

You can get sprays from the pet shop to neutralise wee, used it a lot with elderly doggie with poor bladder control.
