How does one get blood out of a mattress?

It's dried in, few spots not massive stain.

Can't bare the thought of having a blood stained mattress for ever, it's new and cost more than my monthly mortgage payment.

Thanks!

Cold water.
Rub soap on it.
Rinse off with cold water.

There are lots of ways, that's mine. Don't soak it with water - just use a wet cloth.

when you've sponged off what you can, using a cold water and rinsing the sponge out in your bucket frequently, there's a carpet and upholstery cleaner in a fuschia-pink squirty bottle that is good. You can let it dry and then hoover it off. It seems to bleach out "pet stains" from carpets

Hydrogen peroxide is often recommended for homebirths when blood spills land on the carpet. I have no experience myself but I can't imagine why it wouldn't work on a mattress if it works on carpet. You can buy it from a pharmacy.

If you can't get the stain out buy a mattress protector to cover it up.
