dirty shower door seals

The clear rubber seals on the bottom of the shower doors in my recently purchased house are very grubby- some black mould but also plaster dust (from the previous owners refurb). The seals appear to have been glued to the glass of the shower doors - so I can't just slip them off and replace.

Anybody know what solvent to use to dissolve glue but not damage the glass? has anyone just scalpeled off the seal leaving behind a strip stuck to the glass and then bought slide on seals?

any advice very welcome

No solvents will damage glass. Have a look at B&Q for sealant remover

as it has probably been glued down with that. you need to get as much off as possible before putting a new one on.

good luck
