Mixing lights and darks in the wash??

So, I trying to work up the motivation to go the launderette telling myself its some quiet alone time

But...I have all dark clothes and one beige shirt belonging to DP! I don''t really want to put it in a washer by itself and pay £3 for the privileged tight arse

If I put the beige shirt in with blue towels and other assorted dark clothing which has been washed many times before, do you reckon it will be safe?

Thanks iseenodust

Total dilemma If its on a lower temp wash it should be fine, but higher temp which is what you generally use for towels will result in some dye come out and it may end up grey. You need to choose between potentially under washed towels or a greyed shirt otherwise leave the shirt til next non coloureds wash Grin

Oh Henbur! I had it all sorted now you have given me a dilemma Grin

Was going to do a 40 degree wash. Leaving in a minute so wish me luck! Hmm

I wash everything cold together. Only problem is when it has never been washed. I think you'll be fine.

SomePeopleSayImBonkers · 18/08/2012 15:58

Thanks monsterchild!

Ok really should get my arse away from this laptop and go!

So unmotivated today! but did get to hold an Olympic torch today!

I wouldn't, especially if the darks include denim, they never stop running. If it's only 1 shirt, why don't you just handwash it?

SomePeopleSayImBonkers · 18/08/2012 18:19

Back from launderette and beige shirt is still beige!

No denim...wouldn't anything but darks with denim!

Could've hand washed it, but so much easier to chuck it in with the rest Grin

So, no funny coloured shirt and explaining it to DP

Thanks everyone! Smile

I use colour catchers in every wash and just bung everything in, darks, lights etc, makes for an easier life!
