I'm looking for a relatively retro look in my bathroom that I'm just about to have completely 'redone'.
Shower chosen, vanity unit and retro looking toilet.

The idea is, the tiles only come half way up, except for the shower, of course, and are in a solid, dramatic colour. The look is then softened, by a cream background paper with 'colour matching' floral design.

UNTIL I went to ALL the tile shops and found a sea of beige. The Victorian designed stuff costs an arm and a leg. But there is a range of metro tile I've found that does a cobalt blue. dark green or black.

I've never been a lover of blue, unfortunately, and I see it as a cold colour.....

So, here's the question......da,dah........dark green....too blokey (I live alone now, cancer retired), or black, which I must say, I'm coming round to, only cos I can't find anything else at a price.

Has anyone seen a black half tiled bathroom, apart from the glossy mags?

Such a big flippin decision......and I havn't long to decide........

Haven't seen any myself but try Google Images Smile

I don't like solid black - too cold, I suppose a black chequerboard effect wouldn't be too bad, quite retro actually.

What about a red colour instead?

Y'know what.....I'v already changed my mind.....

I'm gonna go for cream or white metro tiles down below and then floral trailing wallpaper up top.

I like black.

If you go black then it will be easer to add an accent colour ( red, yellow, silver) with accessories tv
