Do you have one? If so where did you get it from?

Thanks in advance

I have a beautiful one my grandparents bought for my great aunt, and which I was given when she passed on. I really like the older stuff, and have seen really nice ones like mine in the charity shops. It makes a bit of scouring though! I'm sure someone will come along soon with some websites though. Enjoy your shopping!

What sort of budget are you looking at?

WhiteRosesAreNice · 15/08/2012 21:08

Money no object. I want to treat myself. I have always wanted one and now finally have time to invite friends over for 'tea and cake' so want to do it in style.

Quite like this one On ebay a bit garish perhaps.......

Fiveflowers · 15/08/2012 21:09

I have this one. It was my mum's.

So pretty.

You could always treat yourself to a tea set of Emma Bridgewater bits and pieces. If money is no object you won't mind that the stuff costs a fortune.

WhiteRosesAreNice · 15/08/2012 21:28

Wow, glad you warned me twonker. That is bright, bit worried it will detract from my lovely cake (smile)
Five flowers - I like yours but want something a bit more modern.
I love - I will check out Emma Bridgwater.

Thanks for all replies. DH thinks I am a bit sad wanting a teaset so it's nice to 'speak' to some like minded folk

We have a set of Wedgewood Queens ware that I inherited from DH's grandfather that I absolutely love

Our everyday set is a Denby one in natural blue which has been really good

For formal we have a set of Wedgewood Celestial Gold which is nice because it is not fussy but very classic

I love teasets. Never use them, but love them! I collect old Spode blue and white.

Check out the Portmeirion, royal Albert and royal doulton websites. They all have some really modern designs now, although often made for the American market :(

royal albert gossamer is a lovely non-flowery, vintage, tea set. easy to get on ebay too - i have bought replacement cups for my handed down set.
