We've finally succumbed and bought a dishwasher. Grin

If I use ?all in one? tablets do I also need to fill up the salt and rinse aid when the warning light goes on, or can I ignore them as they are already in the tablet?

it will work better with salt and rinse-aid.

If you have a proper water-softener in the house already, and you know for a fact that the dishwasher is fed from the softened supply, then you will find that the inside of your d/wr stays bright and shiny, even the heating element, and you do not need to add salt. Any sign of dull white scale and you know you need it.

I use salt and rinse aid even with all in one tablets as it seems to give a better wash. I just use cheap own make salt/rinse aid.

So I am new to dishwashers. My dad gave me this salt thing to clean and keep my dishwasher healthy. Where does the salt go?

the lid of my salt dispenser is on the bottom floor of the dishwasher - unscrew and pour the dishwasher salt in until it reaches the top (dont worry if water comes out as you pour the salt in). Is it dishwasher salt you have or a dishwasher cleaner thing? (in which case dont put it in the salt dispenser!)

ahh I see it now. The packet says pure salt. Just done as you said. Thank you for your help.

vodkaanddietirnbru · 13/08/2012 12:05

Bumblebee333 · 13/08/2012 12:18
