I wash plastic containers in a dishwasher - is it OK or does it affect the plates there etc...I know some people wash them by hand? Also, I store food in the fridge in plastic containers - is it OK for food to be stored in plastic? also, warming up food in plastic in microwave - is it OK?

Yes,yes and yes!

Dishwashing - never had a problem. Normally put them on top shelf, or at bottom if no other room.

Store in food in fridge - common sense for how to store food.

Microwave - just don't use a lid. Cover with clingfilm and leave a gap (or pierce hole) to let steam escape. Anything tomato based (e.g. baked beans, tom soup) will leave an orange stain in container, perfectly fine to use as long as washed properly!

(I always save plastic containers from takeaways!)
