How to clean the glass on my ovendoor?

Me and the dc are stuck at home today so I'm going to try and tackle some of my never-ever jobs.

The inside of the oven door is glass - but brown and mucky, no longer see through! Shock

What's best for cleaning it? Preferably without toxic/ radioactive chemicals. :)

brillo pad and some astonish oven and cookware cleaner

MyCatHasStaff · 10/08/2012 22:08

The oven cleaner from Lakeland is brilliant - it doesn't smell, you just paint it on and leave it a while then wipe it off

exoticfruits · 10/08/2012 22:20

You can't beat the Lakeland oven cleaner!

I scraped all the crud off with the flat of a stanley blade, it took about 20 seconds :)

Oven pride gel. Leave for a couple of hours and it's like new. I just posted on a filthy oven thread about this! You can get it for £3.99 in morrisons or £2.99 in home bargains. It's £6+ in Homebase Angry

I got astonish from poundland; its awesome!

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 11/08/2012 10:40

I just got some oven cleaner spray and one of them wire scrubber things from supermarket. Left the spray on a few minutes, and a bit of rubbing, it came off quite easily.

Oven pride, 2.99 from home bargins. I left mine overnight, cleaned it the following morning, and it was like new. The bag for the racks works wonders too!

Peerie - genius! :)
No scrubbing, no chemicals and looks like I spent ages on it!

Stanley blades are useful for millions of things :) DH has them for his 'shed work' and they bleed into the house. Good for scraping the inside of the fish tank too!

Yankeecandlequeen · 14/08/2012 08:19

switch the oven on to warm the glass up - really makes the job easier!

laudinum · 14/08/2012 08:21

I went hardcore and removed the glass then soaked it overnight in bio detergent.
