Anyone had their DYSON serviced using the fixed price service?

Just seen that Dyson will come out and do a service for £73 iirc. Sorely tempted as I love my Dyson, but there are a few bits past their best - like the handle has cracked and is held together by duct tape! Blush

Has anyone had this done? Was it worth it, and what did they do?

TIA! Thanks

Yes! Mr Dyson turned up on time, put down a little piece is carpet (this bit made me laugh!, , fixed the machine, changed the filters and went in his way. A good service. Hope not to have to see him again soon though :)

Yes, a few years ago when the electric cable kept retracting of its own accord. He replaced that (on his bit of carpet!) and replaced a couple of other parts which were cracked but still working. Well worth it IMO.

Yes - I've used it a couple of times. It was excellent - he got out his carpet Grin. My cable wasn't retracting properly but he also replaced the head as it was a bit worn.

My mum had this done recently but I'm sure she paid much less for the service, like 15 quid or something? She has an ancient Dyson, but according to the engineer, her model is one of the best (he hinted that the recent ones are not as sturdy as the orig models). That said, she felt it hasn't been working as well as of late, so when she got a call from them, she agreed for them to do the service.

He suggested they got a new brush roller bit as the bristles had worn down, not by much, thinking we're talking millimetres. My dad was very sceptical, but since having been replaced, there is a definite improvement in it, and is picking up loads more than it used to. Can't remember how much the part was, but it was too expensive and the service and part combined was way cheaper than a new hoover...

Was = wasn't too expensive...
