tips to stop things going under sofa?

This should probably go under bad housekeepping, but I can't find that section :) . I am fed up of toys etc migrating under the sofa. I sweep it all out about 3 times a week, but would be so much easier if things didn't go there in the first place. Laminate floor. Not helped by dh thinking sweeping things under the sofa is a legitimate cleaning technique. Would carpet under there work, or just make it worse?

Buy bigger toys

I had this problem. Got so fed up of having to rescue a car 4 times a day!

I had some old curtains in a similar colour to the sofa and rolled them up and wedged them under.

They are about 2 inches back, you can't see them and it's easy to just sweep along them still.

Made it all much easier.

If you still use a changing mat, keep that under there?

You're lucky it's only toys. My hoover imediately needs emptied after I go under mine.

Curtains sounds like a good idea, in fact i think we have an old bolster taking up space in my airing cupboard which would be perfect. Fortunately we are past the changing mat stage, it did live there for a while though. Unfortunately the gap is quite big ?5cm, and I don't think the dc would appreciate trading their lego in for mega blocks, so bigger toys won't work!
