Sebo vs Miele

Hello lovely Mumsnetters, my dyson has died (not before time) the thing has cost me so much in repairs and is just crap. Looking at sebo or miele to replace it, we have very thick carpet in lounge/dining room and have a cat, upstairs the carpets are not very thick but fluff and bits really stick to them. hard flooring in hall and kitchen. Which one should I get?
would love all opinions.
Many thanks in advance.

Sebo. Cheaper bags and bigger bags so you don't have to change them as often. At least thats the case when I was comparing similar cylinder models after my Dyson died. Plus the Sebo one was lighter than the similar Miele version.

I do love my Sebo, better than my old Dyson.

Never had a miele but I love my Sebo. We've had it nearly 15 years and it's only needed repairing once (when I dropped it down the stairs).

Whatever you get, choose an upright so the roller beats the carpet as it sucks, it will get the carpet cleaner.

I'm going to get an upright miele when we have carpets.

Sebo.
No question.

FlatCapAndAWhippet · 30/07/2012 16:47

I work for a cleaning agency and have the use of both. Based upon the luxury of trying both first, I bought the Miele Cat and Dog. Brilliant!

TheReturnoftheSmartArse · 30/07/2012 16:56

LOVE my Cat & Dog - but to be fair, I've never heard of tried a Sebo.

Longtalljosie · 31/07/2012 21:03

I have a Sebo X4 - just brilliant after the frustration of owning a Dyson.
