best room fragrance?

Have just come back to damp cold scottish house after 3 weeks away and it doesn't smell nice. Am not a fan of air fresheners usually but feel it needs something to help it smell nicer while I warm it up and air it out. Top tips?

I do like reed diffusers, they are very subtle.

You can also get the wardrobe sachets and stick them behind a mirror or picture frame so the scent is distributed.

For me it's vanilla essential oil in a burner, about four drops added to water works wonders, if you like vanilla
