hi i am sick and tired of our under counter fridge, its not big enough for a family of 5 and i often find the door hasn't closed properly, not nice with meat etc!
I have in the garage a large fidge freezer that has just been stood for 2 years, if i bleached it to within an inch of its life do you think it will work, be safe to use? Am asking as dont want to waste time doing all that if its still not going to be safe/hygenic to use.

Im no expert but I'd clean it, plug it in and give it a smell in a few days. Maybe put a small carton in milk and check it after a few days to see if it's still fresh?

I was going to start a thread about my fridge today! Can I put the shelves and drawers etc in the dishwasher?

As long as the internal surfaces are not broken or anything, then there's no reason it would be unhygenic. Just give it a good wash out and let it dry, then switch on and see what happens. There's always a risk it may not be working that well if it's been stood for a long time, but you should be able to tell pretty soon if it is getting cold or not.
