In 3 months I will have 2 DC under 18 months. I think that one way to save my sanity will be to get a Roomba or similar. Having instructed discussed with skeptical DH and insisted persuaded him that this is a very worthwhile investment, I don't want him to be proved right either of us to be disappointed with the results.

So is a Roomba better than the other brands? And if so, is the latest model (the 7 something) the one to go for?

Thanks in advance for any advice/ ideas.

Some MNers rave about them but I have 2 friends with Roombas and they say it's a huge gaff clearing the whole floor, lifting and moving hazards etc... so it doesn't get stuck that it would have been faster to just get the Hoover out.

my cousin has one, she loves it. (No DC in her house but lots of furniture Grin )
She sets it to get on with it while she's out.

Your DC would either love it and want to follow it or be terrified and scream the place down Grin.

You could set it off when you take the DC out or at night.

They cost £££ though, IIRC about £300, and I'd imagine they need emptied quite often.

I agree with Gary. A friend of mine has one and often has to get the hoover out to do the places the roomba can't reach.

Have had both. Love them - life changing gadgets. Prefer the Roomba.

You could get a cleaner 2 hours a week for 20 weeks for the price of a Roomba then - think I would rather have that help with a baby!
