DP and DSS just had a lift in friend's van. Neighbour is a huge cat lover, feeds all the strays, and obviously the local cats have been sitting in his van and one has secreted over the seat.
DP and DSS absolutely stink, as does our small flat now. We worked out most of it was on DSS shorts, which have been thrown out.
We live in a very small space with DSS staying with us for the next 3 weeks. (which is how they got the lift here...DP does not drive) The smell in our lounge which will also be used as bedroom, is unbearable.
I should know all about this as I worked at a cattery in the 90s!
I know this smell (as a few cats sprayed when i worked there) and it's definitely from anal glands and not urine. It's like skunk. I have googled and got a few tips.
Thrown down some peppermint oil. Mopped floor with peppermint and patchouli oil in the water.
Now just smells of skunk and kendall mint cake ! The skunky pungent smell is overriding everything else. We also use this room as an office and to eat (like i said, small flat) there is literally nowhere to go to escape it (no garden / balcony) I'm the lucky one as I'm working all weekend!
Feel sick.
