Help I'm moving house!

We decided two weeks ago to put our house on the market. We've had loads of viewings and today had an offer. We haven't accepted yet but it's suddenly hit me that we are moving soon and I haven't even started to sort things out.

DH used to be military and we moved so many times, we had a sort of semi-permanent load of boxes which moved with us full of curtains, ornaments, kitchen stuff, books, Christmas decorations etc, and every time we moved I'd pull out the things which suited the current house and pack away the rest. Well DH has now retired, has been retired 5 years, but we still have boxes full of stuff in the attic. I have completely sorted and cleaned the house for viewing which has created another six boxes of stuff in the spare room.

Problem is that I am so disorganized; I think "Ooh I'll sort a box out today" and I start and halfway through have a pile of stuff which I actually want to keep, and start taking it down to the house to replace other stuff, then get sidetracked reorganising things. I end up running out of time and taking the stuff I've replaced upstairs, toss into the box I've just gone half through, and shut it up again so I'm no further 'sorted' than when I started.

I need a plan. Grin Help!

We moved a lot too, oversees 3 times. I would get rid of anything that doesn't fit, hasn't been worn in at past 2 years or you don't want. So eBay, car boot or charity shop.
Get same size boxes, permanent pens , tape gun and make a box list in excel.
Box no. Contents, whose room.
Do a box each room, number it, write own basic contents in list and seal it, also write which room it's to go in.
Keep chipping away , room at a time, rent a storge unit if necessary do not put back into your own house.
make a list if utilities to canx or swap, get PO forwarding forms, look into prophet new suppliers, as maybe better deals now,

Free moving boxes are available online. Very famous site Craigslist and Recycle can help you in a better way. And 'stores' is one place from where you can get free moving boxes easily.
