Red wine stain on pale beige carpet

Last night red wine went all over the carpet (and new sable coloured sofa). Tried to clean it by sponging it off, salt, soda water and 2001 spray but you can still see a dark patch. Any ideas what to do? Thanks.

Try the 1001 again. I think it's better than the vanish version. You could also try to loosen the stain more with a steam cleaner if you have one. Failing that get the professionals in or move the sofa to hide it!

Babywipes have worked for us before.

wet it again without rubbing and pour a whole container of salt over it, and leave it. When it is dry, sweep it up. If there is still a stain, well you will have to buy a small rug.

Try soaking it in white wine, this has always worked like magic, immediately after the spillage.

The Aldi multi-purpose cleaner spray has worked for wine spills, though I have used it immediately.

Hi. You can use bleach on some carpets. When I got mine it said on the sample book that it was safe to use bleach on it.
