Lots of bright pink spills all over hall carpet which is beige! Is it doomed? Six year old DD is NOT in my good books.

Have used a whole bottle of remover and dabbed away for what seems like forever but the neon pink ain't budging Sad

Last weekend a pal's 2 year old painted her nails, herself, and parts of our sofa and living room carpet with dark plum nail polish. A lot of dabbing with nail polish remover did get it out. The child was probably more difficult to clean.

I did this. I solved it by moving furniture over the stain.

Hope this tip isn't too late for you, but use (a lot of) hairspray and then keep blotting.

I had the same problem today - black nail varnish, knocked over on an oatmeal carpet. Tried nv remover and it made it worse. Poured some on to the carpet and dabbed it but nothing much came out. Patch the size of a 50 pence and little bits here and there. Really cross as there is no excuse - dd is 15!!! It's done now though so no point in crying over spilt milk. Will watch this in case anyone with more tips comes on.

I spilt dark purple nail varnish on our very light carpet and used a spray carpet cleaner. I rubbed and sprayed for about 15 minutes in a circular movement and it did come out.

Mine's probably dry by now! eek

Hairspray, loads of water and a slug of nail varnish remover. Attack vigorously with a nail brush!

Keep on repeating and it WILL work.

Bright green on a cream carpet - no sign now.
