Gas Hob - how do you clean?

The metal bits that the pans sit on over the gas?

I spray mine at the same time as I rarely clean the cooker, but they are a faff and always take ages.

I'm considering putting them in the dishwasher, but I'm a bit worried as they have those little rubber bits on them to stop them hitting the cooker.

Any brilliant ideas?

Erm nope Grin

I just use a spray and cloth

Well. You can add them to the list of odd things you can put in the dishwasher...

Only did them on the quick 35 degree wash, but they're clean ish with no effort. Grin

I put mine in a bowl of hot soapy water (like doing the washing up) wash them using a sponge and leave them on the drainer to dry. Works a treat.

dishwasher

it does take the shine off though. they might shine up if you could be bothered to rub with a soft cloth and a spot of cooking oil or lard.

Interestingly, shiny new replacement ones are fairly cheap from cooker spares suppliers.
