Hi, we used the Mr Muscle plug hole unblocker stuff. It took a couple of doses but all well and good now. I did try cheaper stuff from Home Bargains first, but it didn't work at all.

If its full of hair, try Veet Grin

I use Mr Muscle kitchen and bathroom drain gel. Any of those should do the job.

veet

I asked this a few weeks ago and tried the Veet thing on someone's advice - it worked a treat! And it was on two-for-one or something at Tesco a while ago...

I got a drain python from Tesco - long wiggly metal thing which you twist round inside the pipe. It was amazing what came out - in a slightly horrifying kind of way. Currently unavailable on their website - obviously an irresistable product!

  • pull as much hair out as you can (tweezers are good for that job)
  • pour in a cup full of soda crystals (with a funnel to get them in as deep as possible)
  • followed by half a pint of white vinegar (caution it will fizz)
  • leave for half an hour
  • pour over a kettle full of boiling water

Caustic soda. You can get about 6 to 8 applications out of one tub for half the price of something like Mr Muscle drain unblocker.

Just follow the safety precautions on the tub.

I second Caustic soda - the only thing that worked on my gunky bath!

Ancient shower hair

I third the caustic soda.
