I generally wash all my stuff on 40 deg or 30 for delicates or once worn. (60 for sheets, towels etc)

Trouble is my poor DD has a typical sweaty teen problem & despite daily washes/showers & deodorant some of her fav tops don't seem to smell clean, under the arms ...in fact are still pongy when they come out. I've tried smaller loads & hotter temps which help a bit but you can't boil some things. Any ideas or shall I just throw stuff away?

White vinegar is meant to be good for getting deodorant stains/pongs out of clothes

Bossybritches22 · 09/07/2012 12:20

Thanks Fliss i'll try that...soak items/patch dab it on/or in the rinse?

I've got sensitive skin so can't use bio powders which are better at getting rid of sweaty smells but have found halo sportswash in my local sainsbos and tescos which does the best job I've found at getting rid of the sweat incrustation.

Btw, don't let the cheapy look of the packaging put you off halo - it's good stuff Grin

reastie I must thank you for this advice, it is fab, the only thing that has got rid of the awful smell of my husbands t shirts he wears motorbike racing, nothing else has worked.
Thank you, thank you

Mitchum deodorant is the only thing that has ever stopped me sweating. I'd highly recommend it for you daughter.

MerryMarigold · 10/07/2012 20:27

Is Halo suitable for non bio users then? (Ds has eczema)

Bossybritches22 · 10/07/2012 22:02

Thanks all!

the link says it is non-bio

reastie · 11/07/2012 06:50

merry I have v sensitive skin and eczema and if my knickers get a whiff of bio powder I get an outbreak of thrush Blush but I'm fine with halo

maudpringle I thank you Grin

MerryMarigold · 11/07/2012 13:33

Does it work on stains and odours? (Thinking of ds's school shirts which look particularly dirty!).

reastie · 11/07/2012 14:04

Well, I couldn't guarantee it on all stains having not tested them out despite DD trying her hardest Grin , but odour wise it's very good IMO
