What paint colour is the new magnolia?

I want to paint my downstairs a cream colour, to go with my new patterned curtains. (Cream background with light blue flowers and light brown twiggy things.) Is there a more modern version of the colour magnolia? I know I need to just try colours out but wondered if there is a neutral, popular colour which goes with most things and I could try out to save me spending days pondering and testing. Thank you in advance.

Dulux Egyptian Cotton, my living room is this colour and I'm so glad I chose it.

Chalkstone (dulux I think)

There are so so many beautiful neutrals around.

I love pondering and testing. Why not go for a top 3 or 5 to test on a wall.?
I didn't test once and have learnt the hard way!

It is darker than Magnolia but it goes with everything

Chalk stone. Not as dark as it looks on the site - cream, but not as yellowy as magnolia.

Natural Calico too.

Thanks ladies. Are those colours you have recommended whites or creams?

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will get testers for all of them and try them out.

Jareth is right, chalk stone isn't as dark as the picture. I have it everywhere and it goes with any other colour.

Thank you. That's helpful
