Nail polish on Egyptian cotton - help!

I treated us to a beautiful new Egyptian cotton duvet cover last week and like an idiot this week I splashed it with some dark pink nail polish. I have been trying to get it off with acetone nail polish remover as directed by what I could glean from the Internet. It is paler but definitely still the re. Any suggestions?

how many times did you repeat the acetone application? It is necessary to keep doing it until you no longer see any colour being transferred to a white sheet of blotting paper or old white cloth which you should place beneath the area with the stain..do it from behind the stain...not on top of the stain.

Blot the back of the stain with a sponge soaked in acetone....keep changing the absorbent white cotton which you have placed under the duvet fabric and when you can no longer see any colour on the absorbent cotton beneath the wash the duvet cover with a good tain remover in the machine.
