Best mop for quarry tiled floor? Anyone got a jml whizz mop?

Have tried loads of mops and they just seem to push dirty water around on my floor. I need something robust as the tiles in my sitting room and a bit pitted and pockmarked and just tear up the sponge mops. I do have a steam cleaner, but don't want to get that out every day, and as I have lots of bikers and littlies wandering in and out all day I could do with mopping every day. Your best recommendations please Grin Thanks

What do you mean by 'getting it out everyday'? Is it quite a hefty thing?

I personally use a steam mop in my (small) kitchen which has quarry tiles. I leave it propped up on the wall though near the door Shock and takes no effort 'getting it out', any more so than getting a mop and bucket out. All I do is fill it up and plug it in. It's the famous MN Lakeland one.

I'm the same, tried loads of fancy pants mops and steamers but tbh best thing for me is squirting a bit of this on the floor and wiping it by hand with a cloth. It only takes a couple of minutes and then periodically I give the floor a proper scrub with scrubbing brush and flash type concentrated cleaner.

fyp yes its not just a stick mop, it's one with a tank, etc. It's not that much of a faff but just enough to put me off. Might look at the lakeland on tho...

opps Blush ocado call it 'Dettol Complete Clean Spray & Wipe All Purpose Cleaner Green Apple '. There are a few of the straight to floor squirty cleaners out there and I've found this one and the method one seem to make the floor look alot cleaner than the supermarket generic ones.

I've got a JML whizz mop and it does work while it works but mine snapped in half and so did my MIL's. Mine snapped on Christmas morning and trapped the web of my thumb in it, argh! Danger!

Now I've got a Lakeland steam mop, like a stick. It's pretty great.

Just ordered a lakeland steam mop, the reviews were brilliant and i know that lakeland print all good and bad. Will let you know.....

Grin heres to clean quarry tiles!

dandycandyjellybean · 11/07/2012 14:47

Just used it for the first time (have had it boxed in the hall since Saturday - v, v, v busy)! Grin my excuse!

It is totally flippin fab! Sorry to be so excited about a cleaning implement, but my kitchen tiles were disgusting and one go has really got them clean. Used a light spray of sugar soap solution on the 'working triangle' and am going to give them another go now (just because I can) to really get them gleaming. It is so easy to use, brilliant design the way your forward and backward action activate the steam pump, and small enough to keep up and store easily. Leaves the floor barely damp, dry in 2 or 3 mins. I can see myself using it every day.

Advert over...and breathe...as you were!
