Vacuum cleaner bags (synthetic)

I have always used the manufacturers' paper bags (sometime cheaper substitutes) but have recently seen "synthetic" or fleecy bags advertised, claiming to be better.

Anyone tried them? Are they?

My panasonic has them and they do filter out more dust than paper ones.

The house does feel cleaner now.
