Has anyone got a kitchen dresser in their bedroom?

I have a pine dresser meant for a kitchen - about 4ft wide and 7ft high. I have no room in my kitchen at all and it's in the living room with the TV on the bottom half and DVDs on the shelves - it just doesn't look right as the living room is pretty small. It's got sentimental value though and I really don't want to get rid of it. Would it be really daft to put it in my bedroom? Was thinking could put books/pictures/stuff on the shelves. There are 3 smallish drawers and a couple of cupboards at each side and some cuphooks along the front of a shelf. What do you think?

I have! It's an old wrought iron thing with a wooden table and open rails for hanging utensils from those S-shaped hooks. I use it as my dressing table, it looks rather nice I think. I'd give it a go.

I think I will! Read somewhere that you should make sure your furniture is the right scale for the room and the living room is pretty small and the dresser is pretty big. I thought about taking the top bit with the shelves off and using the sideboard bit to put the telly on and putting the top shelf bit on a ledge in a recess in the living room to keep books on but can't see any screws so I think it's attached with really strong wood glue and some concealed attachment somewhere.

You could try just taking the shelves out, they may only be on pegs. Then you could fix a mirror in the recess?
