Hi, I have decided to go ahead with a full run of wardrobes along one wall - can anyone recommend a good company (reasonably priced and not "heavy sell") please? I don't necessarily need sliding doors although they would save space I suppose. The other option is to find a good joiner but would like some feedback first if anyone can help.

Many thanks, Tia.

I remember having an outrageous quote from Sharps once. I think a local joiner would work out much cheaper - and better quality. Or have you looked at ikea? We have a walk in wardrobe and bought all the bits from there for about £200 (obvs didn't need any doors).

We've had them built in by Sharps and also built in by a local joiner. The Sharps ones are far superior, well worth the money. The joiner said he was good - he was just ok, so visit someone who's had work done.

Thanks you both - I love the idea of the Ikeas interior fitments as they are so versatile! I have been given the number of a supposedly good joiner so I may ask him round as a starting point. Ideally, I'd like hime to collect/fit the interior basket, drawers etc and then build a frame and doors around them. Any experience of mirrored doors anyone?

Can't recommend mirrored doors - too difficult to keep clean, and really horrible if anyone has a migraine.
I'd always look for recommended joiner and discuss materials and pricing before starting.

Hi all and a belated thanks Showtime (haven't been back in ages). Just an update on wardrobes - found a good joiner through message board at work and was able to see some of his work in-situ so am happy with that. I am having the wall to wall sliding doors with full width top shelves and full width hanging rails but, the best thing of all is that I am leaving my original drawer units inside - two of them - carefully placed so that there is enough clearance when doors slide along. My filing cabinet will also be inside with ample hanging space above as the wardrobes will be almost to the ceiling. I'm delighted with the whole thing! Thanks to all who contributed their thoughts.
