Best way to remove fly poo deposits on a wall? Tried baby wipe, but that's taken the paint off-oops!

Fly poo? Confused really? I've never even seen fly poo ever, let alone had any on my wall?! How big are these flies?

Baby wipes do take paint off, try a dry cotton wool ball, or if you must a very slightly damp cotton wool ball.

if the paint has come off, it is surely not durable paint (though I have used a damp sponge and WUL, but never tried baby wipes on a wall)

Is it by any chance the initial coat of matt emulsion applied to fresh plaster in a new or replastered house?

It's probably dulux once paint. We have that and it just wipes off. :(

I can't say I've ever seen any but I put that down to being short sighted. I keep meaning to do my kitchen in that durable kitchen paint.

Fly poo is the horrible little brown speckly marks you often see around window frames. Nice!!

Selks · 24/06/2012 11:41

Go and look at the inside of a light shade or on blinds...those little dark brown spots? Fly poo.

Eeeek. that sounds awful. If I keep reading i might even become a Cleanaholic. Grin

If babywipes takes paint off walls think what it does to your baby's bottom!

I'm rural and on a farm, always have a terrible problem, they love "white". You can even see them on my red wall paper - but this does come off. You can also get the poo stains on fresh washing off the line and its stains.

Just try clean cloth with warm water. If not paint over. It is terrible and I have sticky fly sheets everywhere but so many flies when its warm.

When we lived in the static caravan it was awful - spots everywhere,
