Ive ironed dh's trousers and they're shiny now! obv the iron was too hot, is there anything i can do to fix it or how can i prevent it happening again? iron needs to be hot to get creases out but too hot and it makes them shiny - please help.

I don't know about getting the shine out, but the "approved" way to iron creases into trousers is to lay them wrinkle-free, over the ironing board, then put a damp tea-towel over the trs, and iron through that. The steam from the towel penetrates the fibres to give a good crease. You can also do this on woolen trousers which are very prone to shine, and do not like to be washed, so yo can smarten them up with a sponge and press..
