What can I do with my knobs?

My lovely range oven has been serving me well for the last 10 or so years, but the markings around the knobs have slowly been wearing away (probably too much cleaningWink) and now they are just about non-existant! I can cope with the hob ones, but the markings for the two ovens are more difficult to manage without, particularly when you want to cook a pavlova and can't see where 1/2 or 1/4 is!

Has anyone got any ideas?

the oven maker probably sells replacements, especially if they are a plastic part and not just printed on the fascia.

If not, ask if there is an overlay available for the partially sighted (many appliance makers supply these, they have larger, bolder type)

They are printed on the oven fascia, but I will try contacting them about an overlay. I could do with bold print anyway as my sight is deteriorating by the day thanks!

Well I just rang them and they don't do transfers. I would have to buy a whole new fascia (£100) and have it fitted (££)Sad

Come on MNers, any other ideas?Smile

Repaint using enamel paint?

bigTillyMint · 19/06/2012 20:51

Yes, GTAAC, I think that's the way I'll have to go - Selks I could try that, but I'm not 100% sure where each marking should be as they have worn off!Smile

I've just added a rack above my cooker for saucepans and 'things'.....

What size S hooks do I need for the 'things'.....slatted spoon, grater, whisk etc.

Many thanks

I don't know! I just bought cheapie ones from IKEA and slightly stretched them open a bit with pliers so they fit on my bar!
