Best steam cleaner

So, suffering from shitty, constant nausea and spent a lot of yesterday semi-comatose on the sofa watching TV.

There appears to be a whole channel devoted to the X5 steam cleaner from Thane Direct. It looks like magic. Is it really that good? Or are there better ones also at a reasonable price out there? I'd quite like something that can tackle our bathroom grout, manky floors and hard to reach areas.

Is it really sad that I want one for my birthday?

No it's not, I absolutely love my steam cleaner!

It took me a couple of goes before I found one that was any good though...sent back "Little Yello" (Ideal World apprx £48) and a hand held "penguin" type (apprx £25).

I've got a Karcher now and it's fab...I think you really do get what you pay for with steam cleaners. It cleans kitchen work surfaces, floors, conservatory, etc more thoroughly than any spray cleaner.

I'd say go for it :)

Thanks, lavendersgreen (dilly dilly). Which Karcher do you have?

My mil bought the x5 one and i have borrowed it whilst she was on holiday. She has been back 2 weeks and I keep forgetting to take it back because I don't want to let go. It's very good. It's great on floors and I did all my paint work and even my leather sofa with it. The only thing that I don't like is that it blasts crap out of area all over every thing else but I guess that's the nature of a steam cleaner. Am planning to buy one myself when I have the money

Mine is the SC1030 model economy (it was on offer in Argos about 18 months ago).

I have lent it out a few times - they never want to give it back either pud1 :)
