IKEA worktops - any good?

Hopefully going to buy an IKEA kitchen but have heard mixed reviews about the work tops.

I quite like the Pragel Black mineral effect.

How do you find your Ikea worktop? Should I buy one or try to find another supplier who does the widths to suit.

Thanks.

We have a white laminate one with aluminium edges - it is fantastic. There is one with plastic, aluminium looking edges, which I didn't like but we got the real, metal edged one. (White IKEA units too)

Dead easy to keep clean, you don't have to worry about marking it (like you would with wood), it looks fresh and modern. I wanted a more expensive stone-type one, but with a young family I wanted a kitchen that was minimal and very easy to keep clean. I am glad I changed my mind and got the laminate one - I was worried that it would look cheap, but it doesn't at all and I definitely made the right decision.

THe metal edges make it even more hard wearing and does make it look different to the "standard" laminate.
