Will those upside down wellie racks keep spiders and bugs out?

I have a rather dark gloomy porch that I need to use store the millions of wellies and boots our family of 6 has.

Anyway I thought that a couple of wooden boot racks with long poles where they hang upside down would help to keep them tidy. I am rather troubled at the moment by the thought of spiders and slugs living in the boots. I read somewhere that these keep bugs out. I can't see how that would work really so wondered if you had any experience?

It would be tidier but ime it doesn't keep spiders out.Sorry!

I always tip upside down then feel inside (nasty experience of dead mouse in wellie Grin ).

(Note:the rack would keep a dead mouse out.....)

Thanks. Wishful thinking on my part! They would already be hung upside down but obviously that won't be an obstacle for a spider. Will have to think again.

Love wellie racks as so tidy:) always tap welly and shake before putting on, nasty experience of wiggly beetle.. Unless you stuff the big socks in the top, should keep bugs out. Or warm...
