I'm looking for these, preferably pencil pleat and nice kids pattern for the dts room but can't seem to find any and don't want to pay a fortune for custom made. Can anyone recommend a site or shop for these?

Could you buy two pairs of 54 x54 and hang them together?

My DM has done this with some of her windows that are very wide. So she has two curtains hanging together at each side of the window, and when she draws them pulls two curtains into the middle and the other two at each end.

It would probably be cheaper than made to measure curtains that wide.

Interesting idea - but won't it look odd and let light in?

No, they all join up when they are closesd and when they are open you can't tell there are two curtains at each end, it just looks like one wide curtain.

If you are any good with a sewing machine you could sew the pannels together and make your own wide curtains but the sewing gene missed my family so DM and I can't Smile

No, they don't look odd. My grandparents had this in their front room and it just looked like normal curtains except when you were actually drawing them.

Curtains aren't hard to make - it's just a lot of straight sewing, especially if you make the linings separate. Might be worth pricing up fabric from somewhere like IKEA.

thats what i have done! just sew them together, they look fine, you cannot see the join as it folds into the curtain iyswim..

I would make them.. not difficult.

Next do wide and extra wide ones? They usually quite long in length though.

I do know how to make curtains but have no sewing machine and the thought of all that sewing is a bit Hmm. Sewing two lots of curtains together though sounds more manageable. Thanks for the ideas.

We've bought to pairs of curtains for a wide window. They don't look odd, and when they are drawn, they just overlap so don't let any light in. No need to sew them together.
