How do you make your own fabric softener?

there are various methods on You Tube - they all seem to involve a bottle of cheap hair conditioner chucked in. Does anyone know of a way without using that, to make it as natural as possible?

Use white vinegar You won't smell of chips, it's cheap and it works.

ooh a reply! I have a feeling this is one of the boring threads someone was complaining about recently....

Thank you echt - how can I perfume it, in a nice natural way?

If no more replies, I'm going to assume essential oils are the way forward for that one.... trouble is, they probably cost more that a bottle of own brand fabric conditioner in which case what is the point.... what is the point of anything ??

White vinegar and a cheap essential oil such as sweet orange, lemon, tangerine.
Fabric softener is nasty, no one needs it.
