Just wondered if anyone gets really fed when cleaning when you notice chips in the skirting boards, gloss doors chioped around the edges, small cracks in paint etc etc. I don't notice these things normally but when I do I realise just how much needs decorating/repairing ...

Yes Sad

Which means the summer holiday will be spent painting the bloody house rather than relaxing Hmm

That used to really get me down in my last house, I thought it was just me who felt like that!!
I have moved to a new build now, to start a fresh.

Yes us to!! Make a list of what there is to do, then plan when to do it. I try to do something every year even if it just a small job It gives a sense of achievement.

Yes my sofa cushion covers are ripped I can't afford to buy a new one so many things need doing.

Yes, the more time I spend at home, the more I notice. I keep trying to will the oomph to finish all these jobs, and put the house up for sale. I hate painting though!

I have tons of things wrong with my house too, holes in doors and walls thanks to my ds, my kitchen is falling apart, everywhere needs painting. My bathroom is broken. I am also council housed and ive been waiting forever for them to do the kitchen and bathroom.

Wish I had my own house again, I hate where im living now, and dont even start me on the garden!

I only notice if I'm having visitors, otherwise I prefer it a bit scruffy.

I get nervous in perfect houses.

Spotless kitchens really make me twitch. I can't rinse a mug lest I splash water.

gemma4d · 11/06/2012 22:37

yes yes yes, not just me then! Every time I try and clean the skirting boards I realise that they desperately need ripping out sanding and repainting, and it reminds me again and again and again that my husband couldn't paint neatly if his life depended on it :(
