My ironing smells pants!

Washing smells lovely. It all smells horrible during ironing but nice again once it's in drawers. I use a steam iron so I constantly fill up the reservoir with fresh water. Don't think I'm doing anything wrong; I just hate the smell of ironing, particularly on certain fabrics.
Do any of you buy that ridiculously expensive ironing water?

how do you dry it?

MushroomSoup · 07/06/2012 17:49

On the line or tumbled. There's no problem with the washing/drying, I just hate the smell of ironing!

I think it's manmade fabrics that smell horrible. All the cotton/linen stuff seems fine. I don't think it's the water that makes the difference tbh.

I have the same problem, and always wondered why clothes smelt when ironing. I have the same issue with cotton as well.

just stop ironing would bemy advice.

MousyMouse - exactly. I always feel if we were meant to iron the good Lord wouldn't have saw fit to provide us with body heat to pop the creases out Grin
Do love ironing water though and you can get it in the pound shop these days.
