Sofabeds!

We have just finished painting our little bedroom and would like to put a sofabed in there. Only problem is we only have 195x195cm (77x77") square to put it in when folded out & loads seem to be about 200-210!

So, can anyone please help me find...

  • Looks like a proper sofa when not in use as a bed (so sofabed as opposed to futon)
  • Metal Action
  • Blue (any shade), Grey or Neutral (Oatmeal or Biscuit as opposed to Cream/White)
  • Under £400

Thanks xxxx

I just came here to start a similar thread. We're after a sofabed that's actually a comfortable sofa. Not as fussed as OP about colour and have a slightly higher budget but all the ones I've seen online that actually look like nice sofas are 1K+.

Thinking of getting an IKEA daybed instead now, I think I could make it pretty with lots of cushions to look like a sofa - will not be in Lounge so not too much of a problem.

Stiffy - have you tried www.sofabedsworld.co.uk some nice sofas on there and quite reasonable £

are you sure you want metal action ones? We've had a wide variety and metal action ones are actually pretty uncomfortable to sleep on. We have ended up with one of these www.johnlewis.com/231314138/Product.aspx. Know it is above your price limit but colours good worth looking at this style as more comfortable to sleep on.

Yes I quite like the look of Ikea's daybeds too. Someone was showing me one the other day and I was impressed. Lots of lovely cushions as you say would be fabSmile.

I know you didn't mention a futon but I feel compelled to deter you from one just in case you were tempted. We had one a while back. Never again! I have never been in such daily combat with anything as I was with that blasted futonHmm

Have you seen these people?

www.intosofa.com

We have two very dinky sofas from them, one of which is a sofa bed. Looks like it might meet your criteria. Cheap too. Although probably not the most comfortable night's sleep you'll ever have...

Yes, thanks, Cazinge, I found that website. The discounts look quite good.

We're after a 'proper' sofa with arms and stuff as it's for the grown-ups/spare room and we intend to sit on it lots. Does anyone have a Gainsborough sofa bed? They look like proper sofas.

I know the metal action ones aren't great. If there's a combination of non-metal and nice sofa out there - the Holy Grail of sofa beds? - then I'd like to know.
