This happened to me, I though oh its only a bit of wee it'll be fine, ended up having to have professional cleaners in. Its something to do with the ammonia reacting with the carpet fibres. I think there is another chemical you can try adding to the wee "mix" but not sure what it is. So really I am no help whatsoever!

You bleached your carpet??? I think it would be best to just dilute the wee over and over shin with water and blot it up with a towel

There are sprays and carpet cleaners designed for 'pet accidents' - I'd try one of those. They take out the smell of dog pee so I would imagine it works for small boy!

Get some 1001 carpet stain remover or stuff designed for removing pet messes from carpets, it neutralises the odour.

You need something which is wet that you work into the carpet fibres and then soak up with a towel or similar. Keep refolding/replacing the towel with a clean one and stand on it until you do it and the towel comes up clean. DP tends to weight his down with a book and just leave it and it annoys me because that doesn't help at all.

I would use dilute biological washing liquid to wash the area then use a towel to blot as much wetness away as posible. Then I would use zoflora disinfectant and allow to air dry.

Tried and tested method based on a home with 4 kids a cat and a dog and many pee, poo and vomit accidents over the years!

Yes to copious water and towels as well as the pet cleaner.

Great tips thank you! Will get some pet stuff in the supermarket this afternoon!
