Does anyone use a steam mop for their floors?

Thinking of getting one, as I hate washing the floors with a mop and bucket. Do they work well, and also is it worth getting a carpet attachment? Thanks.

Hello :)

I have got H2O Ultra steam mop. Its brilliant and my Mum adores hers.

www.thanedirect.co.uk/products/housewares/h2omopultra/h2omopultra.php - this is the one I have, it is good.

They don't do the exact above one now. However, they sell a model up called the H20 X5 - www.thanedirect.co.uk/products/housewares/h2omopx5/h2omopx5.php

As said the H2O Mop I have is brilliant, and works exactly as they demonstrate on TV, so have no hesitation to say that the X5 will too.

And it comes with a carpet attachment which is great for freshening your carpet between washes.

Of course, I don't know which steam mop your looking at, but I rave about the H2O to anyone, plus Thane who sell them have a reputation for impeccable customer service.

I had one from a catalogue once for around £40 and it was bobbins it just left massive puddles of water everywhere :(

Thanks

I have the Vax S2 and love-love-love it. Sooooo much faster than a mop and bucket, although I have quite a bit of hard flooring in one area (all downstairs) - I wouldn't bother with it just for one room.

They work well on grubby floors but you have to sweep or vacuum first (well, you do if you have my floors).

I have a carpet attachment but have yet to use it. Not really fussed.

I have the really cheap Asda one (based on recommendation here). I've only had it a week or so but I love it. You do have to empty the water container after every use though or it leaks onto floor.

I'm tempted by the vax on the telly I've just had new floors put down so am watching with intrest :)

bought the h2o mop and its brilliant!! recieved it 3 months ago and practically use the thing for cleaning everything. I think the best feature to it is the carpet steamer and the carpet glider it comes with it. I don't use any chemicals except tap water and I can re freshen my carpets once a week or before company comes over. Thane UK also sells the h2o mop carpet refreshers. Different types of fresheners you pour in the water tank, like a teaspoon of it so that it leaves a great smell behind.

Great buy definitely!

Does anyone know if the h20 mop sold on amazon is different in any way to buying it from the Thane website- it is £20 cheaper.

Also did you guys buy the premium pack of accessories and the 2 year warrantly for another £47 from Thane- is this a bargain??

Am itching to but one, just want to make sure I get all the bells and whistles, the ones you actually need anyway

Hello :)

I have had a look at the H2O X5 on Amazon, it doesnt seem any different to the one you get from Thanes website. Plus it says in the description that it comes with all the accessories included, this would cost extra from Thane.

I dont have the X5, I have the model before - H20 Mop Ultra (link to mine is above). I did pay extra for all the accessories. I havent used them all, but have used a few and they are a nice to have feature. If you dont buy the accessories with the X5, all you have is a floor mop and an appliance to spread steam everywhere; whereas with the accessories its good for windows, scrubbing, dusting, beds etc.

I didn't buy the extended warranty, that they seem to sell with everything these days I never usually do, as if a product that costs that money doesnt last at least 2 years then its a product not worth having.

I have always been tempted by the H20 X5, just haven't justified it to myself as I have the H20 Ultra. The only thing the X5 has that mine doesn't is the dusting wand with coral cloth.

Tempted though.

HTH
