Poo stains on a cuddly toy - what temp to wash at?!?!?

The stains have come out of the clothes, the cot sheet and the cot mattress cover (yes it was an epic poo) very nicely with a bit of vanish and a hot wash at 60.

The cuddly toy says to wash at 40. Should I just bung it in at 60 like the rest of the stuff because I know that will get the stain out and risk the toy in the process? Will the stain come out if I follow the instructions and wash it at 40? Or should I hedge my bets and throw it in at 50?!

I'd try washing it at 40 with some vanish or something before graduating to higher temperatures if no luck. Lob in some Napisan as well if you want to kill the germs. I wouldn't hot wash him without trying other options in case he doesn't survive (assuming DC is old enough to have an attachment to him).

would do it at 40 and put out in the sun to dry.

now you have met the real pooh-bear sorry couldn't resist

If he hasn't got a major attachment to it, I'd chuck it out. But then we still have 3000 soft toys and the DC are now 11 and 12.

It's not DD who has the major attachment at 6mo, but DH! It was the first thing he bought for her when we knew we were pregnant and I think he'd be heartbroken if anything happened. I'll wash at 40 and see how it goes. I've sprayed vanish on already so fingers crossed Arlo will come out poo free!

6 months- is she breastfeeding and does she have many solids yet? Most baby poo bleaches out a treat in sunlight even if it doesn't go totally in the wash, but breast milk poo especially some sunshine will work wonders.

She's bf and just started on BLW. I did not know that about the sunshine. Very handy to know!;

He came out stain free on the 40 wash and still completely in tact. Thank you everyone!
