I love products. I have tried most but am always looking to try new ones.
My favourites are Method glass cleaner, cif cream cleanser, fairy platinum & harpic power plus loo stuff.
The loveliest range ever was john Lewis ginseng & aloe vera. Smelt gorgeous & worked brilliantly. When they discontinued it,I bought what they had & use it only rarely as I love it!
Recommendations please :)

My favourite is Bath Power - citrus smell, just leave on the bathroom for a couple of minutes and rinse for a really high shine. I've recommended it to quite a few people now!

Ecloths.

Anything Method (except stainless steel cleaner - smells a bit rank)

Milliways · 24/05/2012 17:13

Method Tub n Tile is my favourite of the Method range, but I like it all.

GimmieChocolate · 24/05/2012 17:16

Chillit bang grime and lime for my bathrooms! I think baby is going to born high on the smell of it!! I just think "mmmm clean" :-)

helen1983sweetpea · 24/05/2012 18:29

I like the flash cleaning products in the fabreeze range at the moment and i have always used domestos bleach for the loo.

The3Bears · 24/05/2012 18:33

Method almond wood polish and the floor cleaner are both great and smell yummy! They are my faves, also love method glass cleaner and the ylang ylang bathroom cleaner is lovely :) (obsessed with method products)

BananaPie · 24/05/2012 19:52

Not sure I'd use cilit bang when pregnant gimme - I'd worry about breathing in the fumes. No scientific basis for this though

RecursiveMoon · 25/05/2012 23:40

E-cloths and Method products. I love them.

RatDesPaquerettes · 25/05/2012 23:48

I am not convinced by the Method range to be honest. I think the pink grapefruit all surface product is rubbish at cleaning (nice smell though!) and the eucalyptus mint tub 'n tile's smell is horrid and it is not particularly effective either.

I think the Cif cream cleanser is great. Apart from that, I use white vinegar and soda crystals. I have a stock of sodium bicarbonate that I should make more use of.

oshuk · 25/05/2012 23:49

Dr Beckmans products are very good. When I had stainless steel cooker, the cream cleanser formulated for this use was brilliant. Also the fridge/microwave cleaner. Never see it anywhere except Comet though.

I use J(c)IF on the enamel bath, although it doesn't work as well as Ajax powder. Bleach on loo but might try the harpic thing after reading this.

Wood polish with a honey cone type lid for my furniture.

MaMattoo · 26/05/2012 00:13

Sainsbury kitchen cleaner - magic, without the noxious fumes or hole burning price tag.

RecursiveMoon · 26/05/2012 09:08

Rat, that's interesting, I find Method stuff pretty good. In a way, I don't exactly expect them to be equal in cleaning power to more chemical products though; the plus for me (especially with DS around) is that they're not full of toxic + smelly chemicals.

I forgot to say up thread - Method for everyday cleaning, HG for particular problems, e.g. sticky cupboards, limescale etc. So, I'm all for no toxic chemicals unless it's a special occasion Grin.

RatDesPaquerettes · 26/05/2012 19:10

RecursiveMoon, I know that I go against the MN grain with regard to my views on the Method range. I have compared the results of the pink grapefruit product against Cif on my kitchen worktop and Cif won by a mile: my worktop is not smooth so Cif is dislodging dirt when the Method product seems to be washing the dirt. Grin

I am all for ecological products too but they need to work!

By the way, OP, a lot of Mnetters tried the new Tesco range which I don't think is that environmentally-friendly but the testers reported good results

RecursiveMoon · 26/05/2012 19:19

They do need to work, I agree Smile.

I thought of another reason that I love Method stuff though - if you have to clean your kitchen or bathroom in a hurry before visitors arrive, it smells nice but it isn't obvious to them that you've done this from the smell (stealth cleaning).

peggyblackett · 26/05/2012 19:24

I love method products, but also love HG products for the difficult jobs

pleonasm · 28/05/2012 13:28

White vinegar.

Washing soda.

Hate hate hate Cif and its bastard offspring cause the spout bungs up and dries and you never finish the bottle. The cleaner equivalent of rinse and repeat. Kerchinng for the manufacturers. Gumption paste is better.

RatDesPaquerettes · 28/05/2012 15:52

If the spout of my Cif bottle gets bunged up, I use a little toothpick to make a hole and be able to access the remainder of the product. Wink
