I can't cook rice at all without it going all mushy. So I need a rice cooker. Can anyone recommend one? Thanks

Cook it in a microwave. 250g of rice, 600ml of veg stock in a pyrex dish with cling film over and a little hole to let steam out. Microwave on full power for 6 minutes then 350W for 9 minutes - perfect rice every time.

Get one from a Chinese supermarket. I saw some today for £25, small ones.

They come with a cup and markings in the pan which tell you what to do. Foolproof.

I have a tefal one which is excellent. It is also a slow cooker and steamer but I think there is a basic one that just does rice.

We have a Breville rice cooker from Argos, around £25. DH bought me one as a joke when we lived overseas in a country where they were more common. I wouldn't be without a one now. It adjusts the cooking time depending on white or brown rice and then keeps it warm for up to 4 hours. One cup white rice to one cup water or 1 cup brown rice to 1.5 cup water - easy : )

Tefal rice cooker - called Electronic Rice Cooker 4 in 1 something like that - we use ours every day and it's fab.
