Hello, I am new to mums net! When I saw it I thought I might get sensible advice from here. I wiped out some manky looking stuff from the bottom inside door edge of the dishwasher. It really did look gross and with hindsite I should have just used some kitchen roll. Anyway I put the cloth into the washing machine along with the bathroom floor mats and some general dusting/ cleaning cloths. I then put them on a 90 degree wash with a prewash and an extra rinse. They have also been hung outside to dry and been put on high in the tumble dryer to finish them off for about 50min. Now because I get anxiety episodes I am wondering if this is enough to kill the bacteria that I probably sccoped up. I am wondering should I wash it all again? Throw out the dish cloth that I used? Please help. I am taking Bach rescue remedy to help but my head need some sensible advice!
Thanks!

it will be fine - a 90 degree wash plus detergent will kill off everything of any concern!

a 90degree wash would've killed anything nasty lurking on it, if that didn't the tumble dry would.

it all seems a bit extreme to me but i am pretty blase about things like germs.

I usually just wipe the gunk out of the door seal with whatever I am washing, jeans leg, towel, tee shirt, then just wash at 40 or 30.....

I think you are massively over worrying. I suffer from anxiety in other areas though so I know where you are coming from. If it is going to keep worrying you, just chuck the cloth away, though from a CBT point of view you should probably use it to dry a plate then eat off the plate or even better lick the inside of the washing machine Grin

Remember the water sluices over everything in the machine and in and out of that seal everytime you wash and all is fine, you don't normally even give it a second thought.

Thank you! That makes me feel a bit easier. Also Hubby has taken the stuff out of the dryer and we've used the bath mats... I like the idea of using the cloth on a plate and licking it ! I suppose I could just lick the cloth...interesting idea! It was the gunk out of the dishwasher though hmmm...
No im feeling much better, thanks!
