Bookcases/storage for toys

I'm currently looking into storage for toys and books for our playroom. Main criteria are that they should be accessible for toddlers (DS1 is 2.5, DS2 2 weeks) and provide a decent amount of storage. I like these ones but £90 seemed a bit expensive (or am I out of touch?!).

Does anyone have any other ideas of places to try?

Thanks

Why not try Ikea?

We've got their Stuva range is DS's bedroom, but they also do a range called Trofast which is a similar idea to the one in your link, but you can build it how you want and can mix and match.

Thanks for the idea. How have you found the furniture has lasted? We've not always had the best experience with them in the past.

I've got the Ikea Stuyva one with some trofast boxes stacked alongside (the boxes get moved around the house alot depending on where the dcs are playing)

I think it is good quality for the price.

NickNacks · 16/05/2012 21:17

It's not that one but similar (Sorry on phone so can't link) bit it's almost identical to the OP's link only four levels of boxes in bright colours.

Just bought a 4 x 4 unit Ikea Expedit unit off eBay for £25. Bargain and fits shitloads in it. No baskets to go in it yet but might buy a few.

719/7425 is the cat number. I bought it many yrs ago when it was plastic boxes but it seems they do it with canvas boxes now.

NickNacks · 16/05/2012 21:21

Argh 719/0425 sorry!

BiscuitNibbler · 16/05/2012 21:24

We have a small (2x2) Expedit (as a bookcase) and lots of Trofast in the playroom and it is brilliant. Makes tidying up really easy too.

Thanks everyone! Lots more ideas to try. :)

It depends what you buy from there cairn but the vast majority of furniture in our house (including our kitchen) is from Ikea and everything has lasted really well.

Another vote for Ikea's Expedit here. We've got one in each of the DD's bedrooms and they can easily accomodate vast quantities of crates, books, toys etc

and
all their stuff is visible and accessible.
