Rust on Radiator due to DS mis-aiming pee in loo!

We have a very small downstairs loo and when DS uses it, he often sprays radiator with wee - getting a few rust spots now. Is there anything I use on radiator to prevent this rust? (Or get rid of rust that is there?)

I think I would rub it down with a pad of wire wool (sandpaper will probably not get into the channels) then dab the rust patches with Kurust (which you can get at motor accessory shops, then give it a couple of coats of oil-based (you thin it with White Sprtit, not a water-based paint) Satinwood.

If for some reason you have to use a water paint, then I would precede it with a couple of thin coats of oil-based Metal Preservative Primer.

The reason for two thin coats is that a single coat may have tiny flaws or pinholes alowing corrosion; two coats mean there are unlikely to be pinholes in both coats over the same spot. This is more effective for a coating which is protective and not purely cosmetic.

You have to rub off and neutralise all rust before repainting, or it will continue under the new paint.
